Welcome to our collection of artificial Phoenix palm trees. The Phoenix in mythology and culture is a powerful symbol. Fawkes, depicted in Harry Potter movies, is a bird that grows old and dies in a flash of fire, only to be reborn in its own ashes. When I look at these beauties I can see in the draping fronds the feathers and majesty of Fawkes.
Date palms got their name in Grecian times. The word Date derives from (phoinix) or (Phoinikos). And was adopted by Westerners as they travelled across foreign lands. They are a pervasive genus that can grow in just about any habitat including swamp land, deserts, island beaches, jungles and more. They are used in agriculture for food, to make bread, sugar and its delectable dates. But in the US they are typically only used as ornamental items and the dates are used in farming to feed the livestock.
Our fake phoenix palm trees, try to capture your imagination and take you back to that trip you made to the keys during the winter of 99. They are designed with draping leaves that create an umbrella effect. Our designs have a myriad of trunk styles and colors from traditional fiber trunks to white and red painted trunks that emulate the different species in nature. Our attention to detail on these items is meticulous to ensure even the most discerning eye will do a double take when looking at them from across the room.
Because of their style you should consider your space requirements before making a purchase. As one of our wider selections, our indoor silk palm trees need the space to spread their canopy. Ranging in widths of 4 feet to 8 feet in some cases, you need a fairly large space to set them up in. I especially love our 8.5 foot tall double trunk design that spans over 8 feet wide. What a great addition to a lobby, show room or great room with a sub-tropical theme.
Because of their top heavy design you should consider how you are going to stabilize your purchase. Most customers, purchase a decorative planter and drop our non-decorative plastic pot inside. That being said, once you place the item into its planter, you will need some sand or pea stone to make sure it doesn’t topple the decorative planter if someone bumps it. Luckily there are endless styles to elevate your design these days.
If you are a designer or home owner that isn’t exactly sure about your project, our knowledgeable staff is here to help answer any questions you might have about size and installation. Take a couple of photos of your space and email them to us and we will help you pick out the perfect plant for your project. Have a great day!
