Welcome to our lovely sago and cycas palm collection. This genus of trees is a shorter that most palms and are perfect for those installations where a tropical floor plant is in high demand. Believe it or not, both species are native to southern Japan, and considering its geography, it isn’t surprising it has a bit of a different look that other species. Today, they are both pervasive across all of Southeast Asia and are coveted for their spongy center known as Sago. It is very similar to cassava or tapioca starch and used in cooking across the entire globe.
From a design ascetic, Cycas are full of exotic beauty, like the rest of their cousins, just shorter. And because of their more compact form, they actually make a more practical house or office plant for people with limited space. Just imagine having the hint of an eastern jungle displayed in a dark corner, or on a staircase landing. It is the perfect complement to a bonsai sitting on the table above.
Sago Palms, unlike their cousins, do have a more traditional trunks and grow in height up to 6 feet tall. Our trunk styles do an excellent job emulating the grey hues found in nature too. Most people are drawn to these plants by the way the fronds stay buoyant and shaped and don’t droop. If you love the style, then you just have to ask yourself, do I want something that looks like a tropical floor plant, or a more traditional looking tree with a little bit of height.
When customers consider bringing faux trees home, they want to know whether they will seem authentic to guests. Rest assured that your fake tree will look realistic, and just plain gorgeous by all who lay eyes on it. They are crafted using high-quality polyester silk. This durable and natural-looking material will live up to your expectations and stand the test of time.
The only thing left to decide is what kind of decorative planter you are going to use to dress up your new purchase if they come with a plastic pot. The good news is, some of our selections come pre-potted in a beautiful wood and bamboo planter so you can literally pull it out of the box and drop it at its location, with no fluffing required! If you are still having a difficult time deciding what to do, give us a call and we will help you make an informed decision.
