Welcome to our line of artificial coconut palm trees. Did you know that no one knows for sure where coconut palms come from? Historians have found fossils in Southeast Asia and South America. There is one commonality in their dispersal across the continents, they love to live next to the ocean breezes in warm climates. The reason for this is the trees love saline water and need abundant sunlight and rainfall to thrive. The fruit trees provided milk and sustenance to native island populations and in recent times they even enjoy the title of fruitiest of fruity cocktail beverages. Today they are so pervasive in our western culture, one hardly knowd when it is in use. Applications range from cooking oils and cake toppings to lip balms and kitchen utensils. In our line of work they are used in hotel lobbies, trade shows, movie sets and sun rooms because let’s be honest when we think of lowering our stress levels, we think “I want to go to the beach”! What better way to celebrate that feeling than owning one in your own home.
Our line of indoor fake coconut palm trees tries to capture the fun loving Caribbean vibe you get with the real thing. Spanning 6 feet tall to 15 feet tall we have a height for every occasion. One of the most popular uses for this design is for trade shows and exhibits that require an island theme but also the height, so you can walk under them. If you already own a palm tree and just want to dress it up, we sell clusters too. They can be attached to an existing installation to add a little kitsch to the look.
One thing to consider when purchasing an item this size is how to make sure it doesn’t topple over. The non-decorative plastic pot these items come in are not designed to stand the tree up when someone leans on it. With that in mind, consider purchasing a larger planter in the 15-20 inch range to drop our item into. To stabilize the product in the decorative planter consider purchasing a bag of decorative pea stone or using dirt to hold the trunk in place. If you use dirt, a creative way to trick your guest’s eye is to plant some annuals around the base of the trunk and add some color to your project. Or better yet add a little sand and a volleyball!
