Don’t feel limited by the spare selection of vases you have on town. You can breath new life into your home this spring by creating beautiful little floral arrangements in unconventional vases. Best of all, chances are you already have each of these things lying around your house.
Teatime Beauties
Little porcelain teacups make perfect vessels for small floral arrangements. Play off of the colors already in the teacup. If your cup is blue and white, snip a couple blooming magnolias and place them inside. Teacups are already designed to hold water so it doesn’t matter whether you use fresh or artificial flowers. Place one on a nightstand for a little feminine touch or make a cluster of them to line up down the center of a dining table.
Wine Glasses
When you are looking for height but don’t want to go huge on size, pull a couple extra wine glasses out of your cabinet. Simple silk calla lilies would be stunning in a small group of 7 or 8 stems. You aren’t limited to wine glasses, try martini glasses, margarita glasses, or champagne flutes. This is a great way to coordinate your arrangements with your dinner menu.
Country Chic
A little antique watering can is the perfect accent for a silk flower arrangement. Chipping paint or a rusted out bottom are only going to add to the character of this vessel. You don’t have to worry about it being watertight if you use an assortment of silk flowers. To add to the country chic look, consider using an assortment of casual stems, such as daffodils, sunflowers or sprigs of lavender.
