My birthday just happens to fall right before Valentine’s day, which meant that flowers and gifts are often combined. For as long as I can remember, my mother would give me a beautiful, potted calla lily plant instead of purchasing cut stems. Calla lilies are of course, my personal favorite flower, but this way of receiving them is extra special because they stay looking stunning from early spring right through the summer.
The only problem is that when you purchase these living plants from the store, they are housed in these unsightly plastic pots. Add your own personality to your favorite plants by switching out those cheap plastic pots for planters with tons of personality. With so many different planters available to you, it is easy to show off your personal style while reinforcing the theme of the room you are going to place the plant in.
If you are like me and keeping real plants alive is a real struggle, use planters as a foundation for your artificial plants. There are beautiful versions of virtually every type of plant or flower that are completely synthetic and ever-lasting. Many of these are so realistic looking that it is extremely difficult to tell the difference between them and the real thing.
Will you go for the clean look of a plain white planter or go for something with a stronger theme, such as a bamboo. The choice is yours so have fun with it and be bold…you can always change out the planter later.
