Selecting Your Towels

When you select your towels, keep in mind that lighter colored towels are more absorbent than darker colored towels. Get towels and washcloths is a light, neutral color such as white or beige. If you want to interject color, do so with the hand towels. When you hang them, fold them in thirds so no raw edges are showing. Hang two on a towel rack next to one another. The hand towels can be layered right on top or you can hang them from and hand towel holder next to the sink.

Travel-Sized Products

Instead of buying large soaps and shampoos for guests that are only staying a couple nights, consider buying travel-sized products. You can get these items readily at Target, the grocery store, or your local Bath and Body Works. Guests don’t feel comfortable going through drawers or cabinets, so arrange these items in a small basket that is sitting beside the sink or on the back of the toilet. This is a special touch that your guests are sure to appreciate. Fill the basket with a small soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, mouthwash and toothpaste.

Small Floral Arrangement

Add a touch of beauty to a bathroom by creating a beautiful floral arrangement. When you use silk flowers you don’t have to worry about the light the room gets. Keep this arrangement simple and sweet by taking an old Mason jar or pasta sauce jar and filling it with your favorite artificial flowers. Two or three stems of hydrangeas are perfect for bathrooms. If you want to add an extra touch, get scented oil in a floral scent and place a few drops on the flowers.
