Traveling is a great way to look for home decorating inspiration. Last week I visited Key Largo, Key West, and Miami. During that trip I had the opportunity to tour Ernest Hemingway’s Key West home. His hundred-year-old abode was all about the surroundings. Trees, bushes, and flowers were the focal point of the grounds. As you walked around to the back of the home, The property opened up around this huge pool.
Showcasing Natural Foliage
One of the greatest things about the pool is that even though it was cut into the natural surroundings, the foliage around the pool was the true showcase. The furnishings were minimal, nestled into alcoves created by the natural canopy. Wood and wrought iron benches lined and bistro sets placed around the pool provide a place for people to visit. These benches and bistro sets are ideal for the age of the home because they are in keeping with the rest of the decor and materials.
Beautiful Bistro Sets
The cats love these bistro sits just as much as people. One of Hemingway’s famous 6-toed cats found this rose bistro set the perfect place to take a morning nap. These bistro sets were such a great way to decorate because they did not detract from the beauty of the pool but they did offer the perfect place to sit down and rest an ice cold beverage on a hot Florida day.
Get the Look
If you want to bring this same casual yet sophisticated look to your yard, try sifting through our selection of bistro sets for the one that would be the perfect addition to your home. This Oakland Living Rose set is very similar to the one that was featured at the Hemingway house, right down to the rose detailed on both the table and the chairs.
