Get a new look this holiday season by trading in your old, dusty garlands for ornament garlands. These great holiday decorations come in a wide variety of lengths, widths and colors. You can choose a thick chunky garland overflowing with multi-colored ornaments or a sophisticated strand of carefully placed monochromatic ornaments. Here are some great ways to use these modern Christmas decorations in your home.
Ornament Garland Curtain
Nothing says the holidays like tons of ornaments. You can take a group of ornament garlands and hang them straight down from one end, one garland right next to others to create a curtain effect. This can be done as a backdrop for your Christmas photos, behind a sofa table, or as a headboard in a children’s room or guest room. When you use this application, just choose a garland that is the right length so that it can hang as low as you want without pooling on the ground.
Elegant Ornament Garland Swags
Swag these garlands just as you would a pine garland. In fact, you can even select a garland that is pre-designed to be swaged by arranging larger ornaments in the center of the garland that gently reduce in size. Garland swags look great over a high archway, draped up a banister, or from a balcony railing. You can also use these on your mantle and pair them with two ornament topiaries on either side of the hearth.
Layered Perfection
Are you looking for a more dramatic effect? Frame your doorway with your traditional thick pine garland and then frame it again with the ornament garlands in front of your pine ones. The layered look will give your Christmas decorations a designer look. This layered application could be used on mantles, staircases, or interior door openings.
Ornament Garlands as Tree Décor
Wrap a long ornament garland around your tree much like you would a thick velvet ribbon. Once you are done, simply add some bows, glittered branches or poinsettia stems to complete the look.
