If you have ever gone to the store looking for that perfect color combination of ornaments but you feel as though you just can’t find it, have no fear. You can make a set of glass ball ornaments that are an exact match for your color scheme. I had this exact problem when I set out to find some small halloween ornaments to add to my artificial black tree with orange lights. All it takes is a quick trip to the craft store to pick up plain glass ornaments and a couple bottles of acrylic paint in any colors that you like. Here is how you can do this project at home.
Supplies:
- Clear Glass Ornaments
- Acrylic Paint
- Thin Ribbon
- Scissors
Step 1:
Gently remove the top of the ornament by pulling it out from the top slowly. With the silver top removed, squirt some acrylic paint directly into the top of the glass ornament. Gently swirl the paint around inside the ornament until it has evenly coated the entire inside. Remove the cap from the bottle of paint and allow the excess paint from inside the ornament to drip back into the bottle.
Step 2:
Allow the paint to dry completely before replacing the cap on the ornament. To put the cap back on, pinch the wires together and slide them into the ornament.
Step 3:
Cut an 8-inch length of ribbon and tie it through the loop of the ornament. Hang it on the tree and enjoy.
