Topiaries are a great way to bring a decorative element to your front door. Seasonal topiaries can also be used to define a certain area. Line up a few topiaries to hid an air conditioning unit or cover up an unsightly fence. If you have grown bored of your topiaries, do a couple things to change them up seasonally. Here are four ways to give your topiary a fresh new look each season
Spring
Celebrate Easter by adding a couple festive decorations to your topiary. In the pot of your topiary, place plastic eggs. You can choose different hues of the same color or a combination of colors that accentuates the color scheme of your home or garden. If you worry about the eggs blowing a way, place a stone inside the eggs. It will help weigh them down so they don’t fall out of the pot.
Summer
Nothing celebrates summer as well as a big, beautiful sunflower. A handful of artificial sunflowers would add just the right pop of color to your topiaries. Clip the stems and stick them randomly into the greenery. In just a few minutes you can completely transform the look of your topiaries.
Fall
Fall is all about neutrals and ops of burgundies, oranges and reds. Think about the changing colors of the trees when decorating your topiary for the fall. Take a large piece of burlap and center your topiary on top of it. One your topiary is centered, bring up the sides of the burlap to wrap around the pot and tie it up with a beautiful burnt orange ribbon. Pick out some artificial flowers in those beautiful fall hues and stick them into the topiary randomly.
Winter
You can go ahead and keep that burlap wrap around the base of the topiary. Gather pinecones from your yard or the craft supply store. While you are there, grab a can of silver spray paint. Spray the tips of the pinecones with the paint. Glue floral picks to the pinecone with some super glue and place them into the topiary randomly.
