This lighted moss topiary is so beautiful and so easy to make that you just won’t be able to get enough of them. Not only do they look great on an outdoor table during an evening cookout, but they are also a great way to decorate inside your home in the evenings. As the sun goes down the delicate starry lights start to work their magic, giving the whole room an elegant and romantic feeling. Want to learn how to make this lighted moss topiary? Supplies:
- Moss Ball
- Terra Cotta Pot
- Strand of Starry Lights
- Florist Wire & Wire Cutters
Step 1:
Start by opening your lights and unwinding them from the spool. Thread the line of lights through the hole in the center of your terra cotta pot.
Step 2:
Insert the end of your lights into the moss ball and start wrapping them around the ball vertically. Once you have used half of your lights, wrap the remainder of the lights horizonally. If your wire starts to slide on you because of the shape of a ball, cut a couple pieces of floral wire two inches long, fold them in half, and use them as a floral pin to secure the wire to the ball. You can do this as much or as little as you need to.
Step 3:
Once you reach the end of your strand of lights, place the ball on top of the terra cotta pot. Plug the electrical cord into the outlet and enjoy the beautiful glow of your lighted topiary.
Try making this project in multiple and lining them up along a mantle, down the center of a table, or along a windowsill. You can even make this pot your own by decorating the terra cotta pot before adding the lights and moss ball.
