You spend so much time creating a beautiful garden but do you have the perfect place to sit and enjoy it? Once you have taken care of your plants, take a weekend to create a space for yourself. Today, we are going to show you how to create a garden sitting area that enhances your yard.
Clear a Space
Before you can create an intimate garden sitting area you must first decide where you want it to be. Think about what view you want to have and how many people will be using the space. Is a single bench for two going to suffice or are you going to need a circle of four or five chairs? Once you have determined how much space you need, go ahead and clear it for your garden furniture.
Garden furniture can be placed on top of any time of ground cover, including grass, mulch, rocks, and pavers. Of course, if you don’t want to have to mow around it, you are better off with something other than grass under it.
Choose Your Furniture
Once you have cleared a space you are free to place your garden furniture. There are many different options to choose from. You can go traditional with a simple garden bench or you can opt for something a little bit more fun, such as this gorgeous cedar swing and stand. We also love the look of four adirondack chairs placed in a circle and anchored with a fire pit or round coffee table.
Add Accents
With your seating in place, start thinking about how you are going to use the space. Are you going to enjoy a cup of tea, read a book, or watch the sun go down? Use this as inspiration for choosing your accents. A little table offers you a place to rest a drink while a fire table gives you the warmth you need once the sun goes down. A couple of throw pillows will complete the sitting area with a pop of personal style.
