Spring Has Sprung – And So Have the Daffodils

The past 48 hours have been a very busy one for our family. We have embarked on a trip from our home in Florida to my grandmother’s home in Pennsylvania. During our two intense days of driving we traveled through Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. As the hours passed, so did our different climate zones and I couldn’t help but notice the difference in foliage from one region to another.

When I left my house it was all palm trees and azaleas but as the temperature dropped and we began driving up into the mountains of virginia I started to notice that wild daffodils were pushing up through the winter soil and showing their bright yellow colors. Up north, the emerging of daffodils is the first sign that Spring is here. In many cases, they even push up through a final dusting of snow.

What flowers are in bloom in your region? If, like my grandmother, daffodils have always symbolized the start of Spring, why not bring them into your home right now? Artificial daffodils are just as stunning as the natural ones and are the perfect flower for any Spring or Easter centerpiece. If you have a different flower that makes it feel like Spring, let us know. We would love to feature it on our blog.
