October Wreath of the Month: Birch Bark Wreath

We have all seen the typical jute wrapped, grapevine, floral, and pine wreath but now you can decorate with something that is modern, shabby chic, country, and traditional, all in one wreath. If you don’t think that is possible check out the new birch bark wreath. A light foam core is beautifully covered with hundreds of individual curls of natural birch bark. The front of each curl is a grayish white while the underside is a medium brown.

This wreath offers so much texture that it becomes an instant focal point in your home. It would look stunning hung over an entry table, a mantle, or a bookcase. I used it hung over my television because I had a huge expanse of wall that had previously been untouched.

Because this wreath is so three-dimensional to begin with, it doesn’t take much to make it pop. I made an oversized ow out of a chevron printed burlap. The burlap is the perfect pairing for this wreath because not only is it on-trend, but it also pays tribute to the natural aspect of this wreath.
