On this blog, we frequently talk about special DIY projects. As a paper crafter, sewer, stamper, craft painter, and general DIY fanatic, I have an art room that is jam packed with craft supplies. One of the best things about having my own personal stockpile is that I always have things on hand to do a last-minute craft and I have the freedom to wait for a great sale before I restock any certain item. Shopping for craft supplies can seem like a job all itself. Here is a list of staple craft supplies for fall and some great tips for shopping for them.

Getting the Most Bang for Your Buck

There are a number of ways that I try to keep my costs low. To start, I always check out which coupons are available for the craft stores that week and what items are featured on sale. When you are purchasing holiday themed items, it is by far the cheapest to shop right after the holiday has passed, stocking up on supplies for the following year.

Know When to Splurge

There are times to be thrifty and times to splurge on quality items. Anything that is trendy should be bought on a budget but your staple items, such as wreath bases, Christmas trees, neutral vases and planters, and furniture should be top quality. Purchasing a great product in the first place will mean that it will last you for many years to come.
